Summer is gone, and school has started. Now that things have quited down around here, I’m back to pattern writing. So, here is a quick, easy little project to get back into the swing of things. The free pattern is listed below, or available as a Ravelry download.

Items Needed:

Size 3.5mm (E) crochet hook

Worsted weight yarn in yellow and green (shown is Lilly Sugar ‘n’ Cream in “Yellow” and “Hot Green”

Small amounts of stuffing

Lime (worked in a continuous round)

Round 1: Ch 2, sc 6 into second from chain
Round 2: Sc around (6)
Round 3: Inc in each (12)
Round 4: Sc around
Round 5: *Sc 1, inc* 6 times (18)
Round 6: Sc around
Round 7: *Sc 2, inc* 6 times (24)
Round 8-14: Sc around
Round 15: *Sc 2, dec* 6 times (18)
Round 16: Sc around
Round 17: *Sc 1, dec* 6 times (12)
Round 18: Sc around, stuff firmly
Round 19: Dec in each (6)
Round 20: Sc around
Slip stitch into next, bind off and weave in ends

As I mentioned in this post, my sister asked me to make some food for her to use as a birthday gift. I just recently finished this:

Fried egg, bacon and toast with butter. I plan on making a pattern for this available, however I am going to try and tweak the bread a bit first =)

Crochet Fries & Shake

After seeing my Crochet Hamburger sitting there so lonely, I decided it needed something else…and what better to go with a hamburger than fries? Then of course a shake to rinse it all down =)

I just made a great discovery for anyone new to crocheting or to amigurumi style crochet (working in continuous rounds). Hooks and Needles has some great tutorials on things like deciphering crochet code commonly used in patterns, video tutorials on increasing, decreasing and crocheting continuous rounds. It’s a great resource! So, if you’ve found yourself staring longingly at some of those really cute patterns but figured you could never do it in a million years…here’s your chance! The great thing about amigurumi style crochet is that once you master a few basic tricks, you can do just about any of it =)

Crochet Hamburger Pattern Available!

Yep, that’s right…my hamburger pattern is now available =) I currently have it listed on my Etsy shop, although I have only listed one. I have never tried to sell a pattern before, so I have no idea how fast it will go! Once that one sells though, I will list several more. My long term plan is to set up a shopping cart here on my site, so then I won’t have to worry about quantities and emailing pdf’s.
