This summer has been really busy, and I’ve been really slacking when it comes to my blog! So, I’ve decided to take a break for the remainder of the summer. I’ll be back in full force come September!
I just made a Facebook fan page! Come and be come a “fan” to be up to date on new patterns and partake in discussions. You can also click here to add me as a facebook friend =)
A while back I submitted a few of my patterns to be included in the Crochet Pattern-a-Day calendar. I just received the “official” email the other day letting me know that they are going to be including the three patterns I submitted into their calendar! As a designer, this is a great opportunity because it will give me more exposure, but really I’m just excited that they liked my patterns enough to include them! The calendar is available for pre-order through Amazon, and should be released this fall. These calendars are a great way for getting a lot of patterns for a great price!
If you are a designer (knit or crochet) and are interested in submitting a pattern or two for the 2011 calendar, visit their website for all the details.
Wow, I was gone much longer than I thought I would be! My family is now moved and mostly unpacked! The house we moved to is much larger than our old one, which means I get a room for all my crafting stuff =) I now have all my yarn and crochet hooks accessible, and I’m ready to start crocheting again! What am I going to make you ask? Washcloths! I seem to have lost several during the move and need to replace them. Fortunately those don’t take to long so I’ll be able to whip up a several in the next day or two and then it’s back to making fun stuff!
Speaking of fun stuff, as I mentioned before, my one year anniversary was this month. Keep an eye out for a contest soon!
I realized last night, that I’ve been blogging and making patterns for a year! Crazy! Sadly I missed my “blogiversary” which was April 23 (my first post). However, May of last year was when I published my first pattern. I think I may have to celebrate somehow =) Keep an eye out for something fun in the next couple of weeks!
I know, I know…I’ve been a bad blogger! I haven’t posted in forever, life has been hectic around here! Now, to top it all off, we’re moving…which is a good thing =) Unfortunately that means we’re very busy trying to get as much packed up as we can…including yarn! So, that means I’ll be going into “semi-vactaion” mode, there won’t be any new patterns for a while and I may take a little longer to respond to questions/comments as well as sending any purchased items or patterns. I should be back in full force soon, until then…happy crafting!
Just a reminder that the BOGO sale ends tomorrow! For more information, check out this post.
Every now and then I get a spammer who finds my blog and leaves about a million spam comments. They seem to be getting a little smarter though these days, instead of just posting a bunch of links, they pretend to comment along with their links. Some of them were pretty amusing so I wanted to share them =) Now, keep in mind that most of these were all “comments” on a post announcing a new pattern…
“I saw where that this article already, likely they have stolen it at you
When I will recollect where saw, I will necessarily inform you”
“here and I about the same write here ______ ”
“The actual information, thanks, I will take to myself here ___________ the reference to you I will put”
“Thanks for an interesting post, I wait for continuation”
“I am unable to understand this post. But well some points are useful for me.”
“I have to say, I can not agree with you in 100%, but it’s just my IMHO, which could be wrong.”
As I mentioned earlier, I just signed up for Artfire. As I was looking around on it today, I discovered a great feature…sales! So I am having a grand opening sale! All the patterns available in my Artfire store are 10% off now through March 8th. I don’t have all of my patterns up yet, but I am working on it. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, email me and I’ll getit up asap. Enjoy!
After much deliberation, I finally decided to sign up for Art Fire. Right now the cost is only $7/month with no listing or transaction fees. Which is quite nice! I just opened up my storefront last night and added a few items, as of right now, the cost of each pattern is the same as on Etsy or Ravelry, but I might lower the prices once I see how my sales go on Art Fire. Another fun thing about it, is that they have a referral system of sorts. If you get 10 people to list you as a referral, then you get a free membership for life! So, now it’s time for my shameless plug…follow this link and register =) Ok, back to business.
As you can see from the little widget on the right, you can purchase from Art Fire without signing up…you just need a Paypal account. Go check out my shop and then look around the site to see all the fun, handmade goodness!
Oh, one more thing…I’m going to be reworking the Pattern page on my blog, so it might be unavailable for a time =)
